True to the Buddhist doctrine – the uncertainty of life, vendors still going ahead with preparing Vesak decorations with no idea whether it will be of any use with the impending travel restrictions and a possible lockdown of the country during the Vesak week.
Due to the busy life of people, most people buy Vesak lanterns from shops instead of making them and also lighting of the traditional oil lamp has been replaced by multicolored digital bulbs. Here are some people preparing made-up Vesak lanterns, digital lights, and even bamboo sticks on either side of the road. This year, the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day is to be celebrated on the 26 and 27 of May 2021.
