The government has planned to build 620,000 houses by the year of 2019 for low income familes as well as to the middle income familes.
About 120,000 houses will be for law income familes while remaininng 500,000 for the middle income cgroups Minister Gayantha Karunathilake said.
A special task unit will also be established under the Tresury to obtain necessary approvals and immediately taken up the programme during the due time frame.
The proposal was made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affirs.
