In response to a government call to cancel or postpone large gathering in view of the spread of the coronavirus, organisers of Sri Lanka's Construction Expo exhibition due to be held on March 20-22 has postponed the event.
“We at LECS want to express our concern for everyone impacted by coronavirus. Like all of you, we have carefully monitored the global health crisis related to COVID-19 coronavirus. Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone involved in Construction Expo 2020,” LECS, the organiser of the exhibition, which was scheduled to be held at the BMICH, said.
“Due to the escalation of COVID-19 epidemic around the world and the news that the virus has now reached our shores, and in alignment with the advice from the Sri Lankan health authorities, we have taken the decision to postpone our event which was scheduled to be held from the 20th – 22nd of March 2020 at the BMICH,” it said adding that the decision was made in the best interest of the industry to enable LECS to organise an event which provides effective participation and experience to all.
