A total 125, 000 doses of the second batch of 500, 000 Sinopharm COVID vaccines that were donated by the Chinese Government yesterday (26) will be given to persons in the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala Districts who have been identified in priority lists provided by health authorities.
Meanwhile, 375, 000 doses of the second batch of the donated vaccines will be set aside to provide the second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine to those who have already received their first jab, Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva stated.
Administering the second dose of the vaccine will commence on June 8, he further revealed.
The Army Commander further claimed that the 3 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine which have been ordered from China will also be delivered to Sri Lanka soon.
