Thirteen fishermen have been arrested for fishing in Maldivian waters, the Fisheries Department said.
The fishermen and their two boats were taken into custory on November 22, the Department's Additional Director Padmapriya Tissera told Times Online. The fishermen and their boats are being detained by the Maldivian Coast Guard in the Hulhumale islands.
Mr Tissera said seven vessels had been taken into custody, but five of them had been released as they had not engaged in fishing.
