A group of 21 Indian nationals over staying their visas and involved in a betting business via internet were arrested in the Kirulapone area by the Immigration Department, officials said today.
The group arrested were between the age groups of 22 to 36 years.
The arrested persons were move to the detention centre located in Welisara before being deported to India.
The move comes amidst allegation that several foreigners including Chinese too were overstaying their visas and were involved in illegal betting activities as well as cyber crime from Sri Lanka.
The Immigration Department had carried out the raid after keeping them under surveillance.
