At least 15 persons have been arrested for failing to follow health precautions in areas whrere the curfew has been lifted, Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Roahana said.
He said that the Police will continue to arrest persons who fail to follow these health precautions and policemen in civvies have been deployed to montior the sitution,
He said the failure to maintain a one meter distance while waiting to enter shops or supper markets is also an offence.
The health precuations were introduced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"If persons crowd up and travel in threewheelers that too would an offence and their vehicles would be seized", he said.
Meanwhile over 1,750 have been arrested for violating the cufew while 450 vehicles also have bene seized for using them during curfew," he said.
