19 local fishermen held for illegal fishing
Naval personnel attached in Mullaitivu of Eastern Naval Command arrested 19 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the seas off Kokkuthuduwai yesterday.
Along with the suspects; four Fiber Glass Dinghies and three Monofilament nets were taken into naval custody. The apprehended persons and belongings were produced to Mullaitivu Fisheries Inspector for further investigations.
