The 19th Amendment to the Constitution came into effect from yesterday (April 30), except for four articles which will come into effect after the next General Election due to appointments to the Judiciary Service Commission have as of now been made.
Former Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, Nishantha Wickramasinghe, arrested on allegation of corruption by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has been remanded until July 1 by the Colombo Magistrate court.
