A 20-year old succumbed to death after being electrocuted in Galeyaya at around 1 am today (Dec 07).
It is reported that the victim had gone hunting along with four others during which two of them were electrocuted by an electric pole in a paddy field.
The duo were then rushed to the Hasalaka hospital following which one had died upon admission to the hospital.
The victim has been identified as Amila Abeykoon, a resident of Udawatte.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out today while police have launched further investigations into the incident.

The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
