24 hour water cut in certain areas in Gampaha district
Water supply has been suspended for 24 hours starting fom 8 am today (Oct 8) to several areas in the Gampaha district, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said.
The NWSDB explained that water supply would be interrupted due to the repairs of certain pipelines under a project involving the South bund of the Kelani River.
Accordingly, water supply would be cut-off tothe following areas ;
- Peliyagoda
- Wattala
- Mabole
- Ja-Ela
- Katunayake
- Biyagama
- Mahara
- Dompe
- Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha areas

SLAF Bell 212 crashes into Maduru Oya
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
