Twenty-four Sri Lankan fisherman have been arrested by the Maldivian Coast Guard for entering Maldivian waters illegally today (Mar 02).
The suspects who have been identified as residents of Halawatha were arrested along with four boats in their possession.
Talks are being held with the Maldivian authorities to release the suspects, a spokesman for the Fisheries Department said.
