The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Doha, Qatar in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Presidential Secretariat and Sri Lankan Airlines repatriated 275 Sri Lankans by Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 218 departed from Hamad International Airport on 26 May 2020, the Lankan embassy in Qatar said.
The group consisted of 17 released inmates, 05 safe house detainees, 17 pregnant women with family members, 19 Visit and other short term visa holders and 206 migrant workers who have lost/ terminated/ ended their jobs. All repatriated Sri Lankans will be undergoing mandatory quarantine at designated Government quarantine centres or at hotels allocated for this purpose.
