The CID arrested an invidual (32) for allegedly demanding a ransom of Rs. 1.2 million after kidnapping a businessman in Katana.
The suspect has been identified as a resident of Kochchikade and an employee of a prominent financial institution.
Reportedly, the suspect is said to have identified himself as an underworld leader by the name of ‘Donagaha Sujee’ and threatened all businessmen in the area to provide a ransom of Rs. 1.2 million.
If the businessmen had failed to do so, the suspect is alleged to have threatened them of an attempt he will undertake to deposit heroin and fake currency notes in their residences thereby resulting in the businessmen being arrested.
