Thirty three (33) isolated rooms have been built in Diyathalawa camp to facilitate students arriving from coronavirus-hit Wuhan Province in China.
From picking from the airport with maximum security to providing quarantine facilities at the Diyathalwa camp, the Army is all prepared to accept the students coming from Wuhan, said Army Spokesperson Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe.
He said they were informed that about 40 students are to arrive to the camp and a team of army officers including medical staff will be on 24 hour duty for over a month. The rooms will include attached bathrooms. If any student show symptoms of the virus, he or she will be immediately transferred to Infectious Diseases Hospital.
On instructions by the Army Commander, students arriving from Wuhan will be screened and taken from separate passenger terminal directly to the camp with maximum security.
