A 34-year old woman has been arrested for deceiving individuals and collectiong sums of money under the pretext of providing foreign employment in Dankotuwa, Marawila yesterday (Jan 31).
The suspect was arrested after complaints had been filed against her at the Matara, Ratnapura, and Puttalam police stations.
According to the police, the woman had swindled large sums of money while marrying several men by promising to provide them with foreign employment.
The woman had carried out the fraud under the name K. Vishmi Dilshani and had posed as a resident of Meegamuwa.
She will be produced before the Marawila Magistrate's Court today (Feb 01).
