A batch of 36 persons who were arrested over the attack on the Jaffna Court Complex and an adjoining building last month were released on bail by the Jaffna magistrate today. They were charged by the police in two cases under the offences of damaging the public property. Among them were five individuals who are charged over attack on a prison which is under construction near the court complex. A surety bail of Rs 500,000 each was given by the magistrate.. The magistrate ordered the suspects to present themselves on every Sundays at the Jaffna police station and if they are arrested over any incidents the bail will be cancelled.
