The Ministry of Finance has said that it has received 473 complaints after launching a hotline to lodge complaints on illicit liquor.
The 24-hour hotline '1913' was launched to file complaints anonymously in a bid to crackdown on the sale, transportation and the possession of illicit liquor.
Excise Commissioner General H.G. Sumanasinghe noted that the possession of licensed liquor above the prescribed limit would also be considered illegal.
