Seven hundred and four persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 during the past 24 hours with the majority from Colombo district, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 said.
Out of the cases, 541 were from the Colombo district, followed by Gampaha and Galle districts. Another three are from those who have arrived from overseas.
This increases the Minuwangoda cluster to 3,106 and the Peliyagoda fish market cluster to 19,674.
Five deaths were reported yesterday from Colombo 13, 15, 12 and 8. The total death toll from the virus stands at 58.
