The National Transport Commission (NTC) has said that it has received 71 complaints from passengers who have been charged a higher bus fare than the stipulated amount.
The NTC said that 40 complaints out of the total 71, involve buses which operate as a part of the provincial bus service while 31 complaints have been filed against the inter-provincial bus service.
"These complaints have been filed just four days after the prices of bus fares were decreased" officials at the NTC said.
Due to this reason, the Transport Commission called on the general public to keep them informed on bus services which charge a higher fare from passengers.
The public can report such incidents by calling the NTC hotline 1955.
