A total of 89 suspects have been arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks last month, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said in a special statement today (May 20).
Of the arrested suspects, 69 individuals are currently under the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) while 20 are currently under the custody of the Terrorist Investigations Department (TID).
The Police Spokesman pointed out that the situation in the country is now beginning to return to normalcy.
He noted that the large crowds of people who visited temples and towns in order to celebrate the Vesak festival displayed that the lives of the people are going back to normal.
