All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) General Secretary Ash Shaikh M. Arkam Nooramith in a media statement today (16) has raised concern over the recent statements made by Ven. Gnanasara Thero about a possible terror attack.
The statement follows;
It is greatly alarming to note the recent statements made by Ven. Gnanasara Thero about a possible terror attack, similar to that of Easter attacks. These statements have been made during a live TV discussion on the September 13, 2021.
During this programme the host queried the Ven. Gnanasara Thero, if he possessed any knowledge about a possible terror attack. He replied affirmatively. This matter has been reported in several media as well.
These alarming revelations regarding a possible attack, which are publicly claimed, would cause immense fear and anxiety among the entire population of this country. We all are well aware of the intense damage caused by the inhuman Easter attacks, in which hundreds of innocent lives were lost and consequences faced by the entire country.
We urge the authorities to investigate these claims immediately and to take appropriate measures in this regard. We also urge the authorities to clarify the reality of these claims to the public.
Furthermore we wish to state that many baseless allegations have been made by the said Thero, to which we shall respond shortly.
