The Attorney General’s (AG) Department will provide guidelines to the Police on carrying out investigations keeping with legal requirements.
The decision was made at a discussion presided over by AG Sanjaya Rajaratnam and Public Security Minister Tiran Alles and attended by senior police officers.
In order to have better coordination between the AG’s Department and Police Additional Solicitor General Ms. Haripriya Jayasundara has been appointed to coordinate with Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Terrorism Investigations Department (TID) while Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris to coordinate with other Police stations.
