Former President Maithripala Sirisena today said that the appointment of Mr Sarath Ekanayake as the Acting General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was only a temporary arrangement.
Mr Sirisena denied allegations that the appointment was made following a split in the party.
He said that the General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara had travelled to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his children.
Mr Sirisena said that the appointment will be valid until Mr Jayasekara returns to the country.
