Air China resumed its operations to Sri Lanka yesterday after a lapse of three years, with a flight carrying 142 passengers and nine crew members landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night (3).
Air China suspended flights to Sri Lanka following the outbreak of the COVID pandemic three years ago.
The flight was an Airbus A320 from Chendu to BIA. The flight will now operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Chendu, landing at the BIA at 8.55pm. It will depart for Chendu from the BIA on the same day at 10.15pm. The flight time between Chendu and BIA is 5 hours and 30 minutes.
China's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong was among the dignitaries on hand to welcome those who had arrived on yesterday's flight.
