All passenger arrivals into Sri Lanka have been suspended from the May 21 -31 May, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) announced today.
Accordingly, the passenger arrivals at Katunayake and Mattala airports will be suspended from May 21 midnight.
However, aircraft departures from the Katunayke and Mattala airports will continue. The two airports will be open for emergency diversions, freight operations and humanitarian flights, technical landings, inbound ferry flights (without passengers) and passengers transiting for less than 12 hrs with a confirmed ticket for an onward destinations, the CAASL said.
The moves come as the number of positive cases and deaths have been rising over the past few days.
