The Diyawadana Nilame of the Temple of the Tooth Relic Pradeep Nilanga Dela, informed President Ranil Wickremesinghe that the annual Esala Maha Perahera at the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa and the Sathara Maha Devala in Kandy was conducted with great splendour, honouring the traditional ritual.
This is in keeping with the traditional followed at the conclusion of the annual Esala perahera.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
