Another parliamentarian gets COVID-19
Parliamentarian Wasantha Yapabandara announced that he has been tested positive for COVID-19 and requested his close associates to immediately self-quarantine and to obtain medical assistance.
The Kandy district Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP said the District Medical Officer has confirmed that he has contracted the virus on Sunday night.
He is the sixth parliamentarian to be tested positive for COVID-19. Last week Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and State Minister of Women and Child Development, Pre-School and Primary Education, School Infrastructure and Education Services Piyal Nishantha tested positive for Coronavirus. Other Ministers and MPs to be infected with the virus were Dayasiri Jayasekara, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Rauff Hakeem.
