Another round of talks between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna's Basil Rajapaksa is to be held tonight.
The issue of SLPP's support for Mr Wickiremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential election is due to be taken up at the discussion.
Earlier, several rounds of talks were held between President Wickremesinghe and Mr Rajapaksa, but no final decision has been reached.
The talks come amidst clear differences within the SLPP about supporting President Wickremesinghe. A faction of the SLPP wants to support him while others want to field their own candidate.
