A large crowd turned up today (6) in Nugegoda for a public rally held in support of those involved in the struggle (Aragalaya).
Held under the theme "Aragalaya" is not over!" the protest march concluded with a public rally held at the Ananda Samarakoon Open Theatre in Nugegoda. The protest was organised by a group of Galle Face protesters along with trade unions, civil society groups and representatives of the National People's Power (NPP) and Frontline Socialist Party (FSP).
The protest was held against represession, emergency law, Prevention of Terrorism Act and abductions.
Protesters also demanded the release of jailed activists.
