Sri Lanka Army nabbed 1000 kilos of smuggled raw turmeric with two suspects recently at the Army Roadblock along Medawachchiya-Mannar road.
Troops of 15 GW under 54 Division arrested the stock transported in a Bolero Cab, the Army said.
The stock was believed to have been smuggled from India and its value is estimated to be Rs. 6 mn, the Army added. The arrested turmeric and the suspects with the vehicle were handed over to the Madu Police for further investigations.
