President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Maj. Gen. Vikum Liyanage as the 59th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from today (Dec 07).
Maj. Gen. Liyanage of elite Gajaba Regiment was the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and will succeed Maj. Gen. Priyantha Perera who retired from the service, the Army said.
