Asath Sally arrest unlawful, compensation awarded
The Supreme Court ruled that the 2021 arrest and detention of former Western Province Governor Azath Salley under the Prevention of Terrorism Act was unlawful.
The court ordered compensation of Rs. 75,000 to be paid by the respondents, including former Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekara and the CID Director
