Businessman C.D. Lenawa who sought a Supreme court order to delay holding Presidential elections has been ordered by courts to pay Rs 100,000 as cost after dismissing his Fundamental Rights petition.
Mr Lenawa who claimed that he came to courts on his own initiative has been given a months time to pay the legal cost.
The Supreme Court five-judge-bench comprising Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justice Vijith Malalgoda, Justice Murdu Fernando, Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice S. Thurairaja dismissed the petition on the grounds that there was no merit to take it up.
