The Trade Ministry has claimed that the income of the Sathosa has doubled in a week after the decision to reduce prices of 27 items.
Accordingly the daily income of the Sathosa which stood at Rs 82 million has now shot up to Rs 166 million, the Ministry said.
The Trade Ministry said that Minister Bandula Gunawardena has assured that the prices will remain at the reduced rates for the next three months.
However, consumers complain that the reduced prices were not being followed in other markets.
