A 57-year-old man was stabbed to death by a beggar near a leading supermarket in Battaramulla last night, police said.
According to the police, the incident took place when the victim, a resident of Thalangama, was leaving the supermarket. The victim was stabbed using a sharp object after he refused to give money to the beggar.
Talangama police has commenced a search operation for the suspect who has fled the area.
