The National Archives Department has cancelled the reservation of its auditorium for a book launch of former Minister Wimal Weerawansa who is currently heading the National Freedom Front (NFF) party.
The novel titled ‘Sande Gindara’ was to be launched on Friday and the booking had been made earlier.
However on Monday the organisers had been informed that the booking had been cancelled.
Mr Weerawansa addressing a press conference said he believe that the cancellation was due to some of the references in the book about the 1987-89 events.
He said they have now been forced to book the Western Province aesthetic resort for Friday (March 7) 3.00 p.m.
A senior official of the National Archives contacted by Timesonline declined to comment on the cancellation.
