The vote on the Second Reading of Budget 2023 is scheduled for 5.00pm today (22). Today is the seventh and final day of the days allotted for the debate on the Second Reading.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) alliance, the National People's Power (NPP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) have said they will vote against the budget during the vote today. Meanwhile, the Nidahasa Jathika Sabhawa, comprising 13 Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs led by Dullas Alahapperuma and Prof. G.L. Peiris will also vote against the budget.
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has said it will abstain from voting.
Tomorrow will be the first of 13 allotted days for the Committee Stage debate of Budget 2023.
