A private bus traveling from the Nuwara Eliya High Forest area to Ragala town had veered off the road and overturned on a vegetable plot about 8 meters below, injuring about 15 passengers, Ragala Police said.
The accident took place at around 11.30 am today (29) near the Mahathudugala main road on the Hyporast Ragala main road.
The injured were rushed to the hospital by ambulances with the assistance of the residents of the area.
The police said information has been received that the driver of the bus had taken ill suddenly and lost control of the bus.
The bus was severely damaged in the accident.
