The Central Bank’s monthly monetary review which sets guidelines for interest rates (either up or down) will be issued tomorrow Friday April 8 at 5.30 pm, the banking regulator said on Thursday.
It was scheduled to have been issued on Tuesday but was postponed due to the resignation of Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal. Newly appointed Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe was due to take up his appointment today.
Economists said it is likely that a hike in interest rates would be announced tomorrow.
