The Criminal Investigation Department has recorded a statement from Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon for over eight hours.
Police sources said SDIG Tennakoon who arrived at the CID to give a statement over the attack on Temple Trees and Galle Face protestors at 4.00 p.m yesterday left the premises past midnight.
The CID is to record statements from several SLPP parliamentarians at Parliament Complex today (18). Johnston Fernando, Rohitha Abeygunewardena, Pavitra Wanniarachchi and C.B.Ratnayake are among the MPs due to give statements to the CID over the May 9 attacks.
