Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya has appointed a three-bench trial-at-bar headed by Justice Damith Thotawatte to hear the case on 2019 Easter Sunday attacks that killed 279 persons including 37 foreigners.
The other members are Justices Amal Ranaraja and Nawaratne Marasinghe.
The appointment comes following a request by the Attorney General Sanjaya Rajaratnam to appoint a trial-at-bar to hear the case against 25 suspects over a number of charges varying from conspiracy, aiding and abetting, colletion of explosives and weapons and murder.
