The number of daily Covid infections reported in the country exceeded 4000 yesterday while the death toll crossed over 7000, according to the Director-General- Health Services of the Health Ministry.
The Director-General of Health Services confirmed 183 deaths due to the COVID-19 for Saturday (August 21) bringing the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began to 7,366.
Meanwhile, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said 4,304 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday alone. Among the cases confirmed today, 4,282 are from the New Year cluster and 22 are foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.
