Five persons died from COVID complications yesterday (7) bringing the death toll from the virus to 502, the Director General of Health Services said.
A 74-year-old male from Pallekelle died from COVID pneumonia and brain hemorrhage at the Kandy National Hospital while an 82-year-old male from Nugegoda died at the Infectious Diseases Hospital due to COVID triggered lung infection. A 72-year-old male from Barawardenaoya died at the Badulla Hospital from coronavirus and cancer. A 77-year-old female from Matara died at the Dambadeniya Hospital from heart failure due to the virus while a 67-year-old male from Kanantota died at the Karawanella Hospital due to COVID pneumonia condition on Sunday (7).
