One hundred and seventy one (171) persons have died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the country’s total deaths from the virus to 6,434, Health Ministry said.
This is the highest number of deaths reported on a single day. Out of the deceased, 134 were above 60 years.
Yesterday also recorded 3609 COVID positive persons, the highest number to be found positive for Corona virus. Over 365,000 Lankans have been confirmed to have contracted the virus to date.
