Three males and two females died from COVID pneumonia and complications on Wednesday (10) increasing the total deaths from the virus to 375, the Government Information Department said.
The deceased are residents of Colombo 05, Wattala, Aluthgama, Gampaha and Wellampitiya.
Meanwhile, close to a thousand people tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday. The numbers of COVID positive Civil Defence personnel presently being quarantined at the Defense Force Advanced Training School in Galkiriyagama after attending Independence Day parade have been increased to 35. According to health officials in Palagala, the COVID infected soldiers will be sent for treatment to Teldeniya and Laggala COVID treatment centres.

The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
