CPC instructed to take legal actions on fuel shed operators failed to maintain minimum stocks
Minister of power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said that a progress meeting was held with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) as well as Ceylon Petroleum Storage terminals limited.
At the meeting it was revealed that that only432 Fuel stations out of 1050 operated by CPC have maintained minimum stock on all products last week while 255 dealers have failed to maintain minimum stocks for any products. Another 363 dealers have maintained minimum stock for one product.
Minister Wijesekara said that Instructions were given to CPC to review and take necessary legal steps against dealers that have violated conditions on the agreements.
At the meeting matters such as the cargo plan for the next 18 months, balance sheet restructuring of CPC, payments to transport bowsers, National Fuel Pass QR distribution, island wide fuel delivery plan, and infrastructure development plan of CPSTL were discussed
