Plans are underway to rehabilitate 1,500 kilometers of roads following approval to a proposal tabled by the Ministry of Transport and Highways Bandula Gunawardena.
Construction on these roadways was initially commenced as part of the 100,000-kilometer roads program but was subsequently halted.
The renovations are expected to cost a total of Rs. 20 billion and to be completed within six months in 2024.
