Mr. Eric Walsh, the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka called on the leader of the National People’s Party (NPP), Anura Kumara Dissanayake, this morning (13) at the JVP head office.
The meeting was also attended by Vijitha Herath, National Executive Member of the NPP and Mr. Patrick Pickering, Political Attaché of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka.
The two sides engaged in a thorough discussion of the current political and socioeconomic context in Sri Lanka as well as an exchange of opinions regarding the NPP’s goals to promote national unity.
Using this occasion, the High Commissioner also extended his well wishers to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his impending trip to Canada to visit with Sri Lankan Canadian residents.
