The Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said that the judgment given in respect of the Fundamental Rights petitions related to the Easter Sunday attacks will be a great opening to look into all the other aspects of this case.
"Officials and politicians hang behind selfish motives and attitudes in order to escape from this fact that they are not immune. We are also very angry about the immunity given to the president, why should the president be afraid of the people?” he said. Pix by Priyanka Samaraweera

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
